Remembering decades past, living in Alaska, my Dad told me a truth, “You may never paint Alaska until years later.” Looks like he was right. Alaska has remained deeply embedded within the soil of us. Like the mountains and glaciers, each piece, uniquely formed layer by layer, into the hundreds, surrounding photography and ephemeral pieces collected while living in The Great Land, one discovery at a time. The seal has been opened and the colors now come forth. Interpretations of abstracts of glacial mountain blues, deep earth forest greens, cold snow white marbling of encaustic oils, charcoals, india inks and of course, 24 carat gold leaf carved in its veins.
