I find fascination that a transplant takes up and dominates our landscapes in the winter months. Starling, bright spot, synchronized, sky swimmers. Legend has it they are not indigenous to the region of the Midwest or even the United States, that one eccentric man named Eugene Schieffelin was so inspired by William Shakespeare's writings he wanted to bring these darling starlings to North America. Myth or not, they have flourished here enough for me to enjoy their murmurations pressed up against the sky and field that we live upon. Transferring our barren winter months into a celebration. One man brought them further out of his own curiosity and celebration of his interest far reaching, bringing delight of aerial shape shiftings to the many. Sounds a lot like life. Do not ever discount the unique beauty you usher in, it may one day dance boldly across someone else's sky, over their open fields.
